How to take care of Health and fitness in the 30s
Health and fitness are important in every age. Everyone needs to be conscious about their health and take care of their body. This is especially true for those who are transitioning from their 20s to their 30s. It may not look or seem like a very big change, but your body is changing, and so are its needs.
You have to prepare for it accordingly. There will be many things that you could previously do but now seem a little out of reach. The 30s can be a delicate age. You are not really that young, but you are definitely not old yet. It is the transition period between them.
How can you take better care of yourself during your 30s?
1. Sleep –
People often tend to overlook the importance of sleep in the proper functioning of the body. You need to get a good amount of sleep every night to be able to be productive the next day and to keep your body healthy for a long time.
Either people completely disregard the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep, or they believe that they can sleep more during the weekends. And this will somehow magically make up for the five days that the person barely slept or the sleep that he or she got was not enough.
2. Alcohol and smoking –
It is never a good sign to develop a habit of consuming alcohol or cigarettes on a daily basis. If you still have not stopped smoking, then it is high time that you do so. Smoking is never recommended, and it becomes more harmful for you as you grow older.
Smoking is a difficult habit to forsake, but it is not impossible. If you are determined enough, then you can completely stop smoking. Of course, it will not happen overnight. It is the result of continued effort, and you can start today.
3. Regular health checks –
As you grow older, you find more and more health problems with yourself. No matter how healthy you were as a kid, that characteristic does not seem to pass into the following decades of your life.
Prevention is better than cure. It is better to be prepared than completely clueless when something happens.
Regular health checkups will help you keep up to date with the condition of your body. Conducting these checkups once a year should be sufficient. A full body annual checkup will give you a report about the current condition of your health and possible weaknesses that you should look out for.
4. Stress –
If you learn how to manage your stress level, then it can go a long way. Stress is the cause of over 70 % of the diseases that arise in the later years of life. Heart diseases, blood pressure and many more.
Stress and anxiety management will also improve your mood and disposition. And a better mood leads to a happier life.
5. Bones –
As you grow older, your bones grow weaker. It is said that the density of bones reach a peak when you are in your 30s. So it is crucial that you start thinking about your bones.
If you start taking care of bones from now on, maybe you will not have to worry that much about it when you are older. Everyone knows how common it is to have bone problems at an older age. Almost every aged person has one complaint about their bones.
6. Exercise-
The metabolism rate decreases as you grow older. So it is easier for your body to store fat in it. Regular exercise will keep your metabolism rate in check. Instead of trying to check your food intake, focusing on exercise can give you the same result.
